Visitors

In order to allow patients to "settle in" and adjust to the treatment milieu, we discourage visitation for the first seven days. Exceptions may be made based on a person's individual circumstances. Visitation is a privilege and is at the discretion of the patient's primary therapist. All visitation is scheduled through the therapist and usually takes place on the weekends. All visitors must be approved by the therapist, proper attire is to be worn and all activities must be approved by the therapist. Please do not bring the patient anything that has not previously been approved. All of these rules are to support our patients in their recovery.

Telephone and Mail

Historically, patients have used the phone to distract them from their treatment experience. Upon admission everyone is allowed to make a call to let everyone know they have arrived, request items they might have forgotten or to have the admission counselor answer any questions the family member may have. From that point forward, until they have completed detox, we ask the patient not to use the phone. Upon completing detox, patients may use the phone as needed. Long distance calls must be collect or through the use of calling cards. For those of you calling in, feel free to leave a message with the receptionist as patients do not have phones in their rooms.

Mail should be sent to the following address:
C/O Florida Center for Recovery, Inc.
3451 West Midway Road
Ft. Pierce, FL 34981

All mail is opened in the presence of the patient's primary therapist for the protection of the patient, as well as others in the facility.
