PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Florida Center for Recovery, Inc. is a 12-step, abstinence-based
program. Florida Center for Recovery specializes in the treatment
of chemical dependency, alcoholism and associated disorders.
You will find our clinical programs differ in intensity and
duration, with each level focused on helping the individual
discover the issues and manage the feelings that lie at the
very core of the illness. It is here that recovery becomes a
reality!

Detoxification
Florida Center for Recovery's Detox philosophy begins with compassion
and comfort. We have created a detoxification protocol that
gently eases the patient through their physical dependence.
Detox protocol is designed to reduce and sometimes eliminate
the symptoms associated with withdrawal from addictive substances.
In this initial phase of treatment, a team of highly qualified
medical and addiction professionals assesses each individuals
needs. Everyone is provided with a comprehensive physical examination
by a licensed physician and lab work to determine if any medical
problems are present. It is during this time, that the decision
is made whether a person is in need of detoxification.
Some of the most frequent addictions that require detoxification
are opiates, benzodiazepine, alcohol, club drugs, and barbiturates.
We also stabilize clients who may be uncomfortable when coming
off other drugs such as cocaine, crack, marijuana, and crystal
methamphetamine. Clients meet with their Primary Therapist to
complete a bio-psychosocial assessment, which forms the basis
of their treatment program. Clients in this phase are acclimated
to the treatment program and begin to focus on their preliminary
treatment plan. This phase also concentrates on the first step.

Residential and Partial Hospitalization Treatment
In this phase of treatment the client begins to participate
in a variety of educational, group, individual and family therapies.
New insight is experienced as to why life has become so unmanageable.
Clients then learn to manage and confront the issues at the
very heart of their behavior and disease. These issues include
but are not limited to: resentment, depression, shame, sexual
or physical abuse, codependency, associated disorders and the
dynamics that accompany family life. In addition to participating
in all of the innovative therapy Florida Center for Recovery
has to offer, everyone is encouraged to attend 12 step support
groups to further solidify their recovery.
This multi-disciplinary treatment program is an intensive treatment
offered to adults 18 years of age and older. The Residential
Program is for people who experience moderate substance abuse
problems. The Residential Program is a cost-effective program
which provides the structure and intensity of an all-day program
and a special supervised living program that allows our clients
to reside at our facility while attending their treatment programs.
A team of professionals, led by the patient's therapist, medically
supervises the individuals program and sets the treatment goals.
Our treatment plan offers clients the opportunity to participate
in group therapy and educational groups while learning coping
and problem-solving skills. Individualized treatment includes
group psychotherapy, education for life management and stress
reduction education. The therapeutic focus is on symptom relief,
problem solving skills and improving the person's ability to
function independently. Clients participate in structured treatment
six days per week, usually for six hours each day. Self-help
meetings are scheduled for the evening. Our goal is to provide
a safe and secure treatment. Length of stay is determined by
individual patient's needs and the evaluation of the treatment
team.
Daily Schedule
The daily schedule is comprised of the following modalities:
Community Meetings, Lectures, Films/Videos, Step Groups, Process
Groups, Case Management/Treatment Planning Groups, Individual
Counseling, Family Workshop, Recreation/Fitness/Activities Therapy,
Meditation and Introduction to Self-Help Groups. The client
schedule begins at 8:00am ending at 10:00pm with evening meditation.

Intensive Outpatient Care
There are those individuals whose addiction or alcoholism has
not progressed to the point where inpatient treatment is indicated.
As such, Florida Center for Recovery has developed an Intensive
Outpatient Program, designed to meet those specific needs.
Intensive Outpatient is comprised of educational classes, experiential
groups, individual and family therapy. Prior to admission, a
thorough evaluation is performed to establish a person's appropriateness
for Outpatient. This level of care is not for everyone and we
pay special attention when it comes to matching a person's clinical,
medical and psychiatric needs to a particular level of care.

Family Programs
Recognizing that the disease of addiction and alcoholism is
a family disease, every attempt is made to include all members
of the family in the process of recovery. Family members will
be encouraged to participate in our family Program, which promotes
the "healing" of the whole family and not just the person in
treatment.
For those of you who find yourselves unable to attend
the Family Program, healing can begin by phone and continue
with a referral to a licensed family therapist in your area.
Attendance at family support groups is always encouraged (Alanon
or Naranon). If for some reason you have difficulty locating
a group in your area, please feel free to call us and we will
be more than happy to assist you.

In addition to Medical reasons, many people seek treatment for
Legal reasons. For example, DUI and other substance related
charges. Florida Center for Recovery has experience working
with attorneys and courts. We will help you to comply with your
court orders and fulfill your legal obligations. Drug and Alcohol
treatment is frequently an alternative to jail terms and other
penalties.
