Bing Eating

Binge eating, or Binge Eating Disorder, is a condition wherein an individual literally stuffs himself or herself with large amounts of food.  While this is a common occurrence for many on holidays and special occasions, individuals with binge eating disorder frequently engage in this behavior in secrecy.  Many times, this disorder is coupled with purging behavior, and is then diagnosed as binge-purge disorder.

Many individuals who have this eating disorder find that it is progressive and has long term affects on their gastrointestinal systems, as well as, mental well-being.  So much shame and depression is associated with this condition, and people who are afflicted with it find that the shame spiral becomes a vicious cycle, embedding this behavior permanently into their behavior.
